Job description

itsme® has fundamentally changed how people lead their digital lives in Belgium, but we are not stopping there! Do you want to be a driving force to help expand on this success story as part of a talented team that is making a positive impact on society? Then keep on reading, you’ll probably like what you’ll see.

We are itsme®, one of Europe’s fastest-growing scale-ups, counting 90 team members and growing. Our mission: providing a state-of-the-art digital identity solution to all people, enabling them to interact securely in the digital space. Now, only seven years after being founded, 7 million citizens use the itsme® app to identify themselves and sign documents online. Starting in Belgium, we successfully launched the itsme® app in 17 European countries, with the ambition to become an internationally leading player.

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious professional to lead a 12-month project focused on delivering a scalable, high-impact People function that supports the company’s next phase of growth. As People Lead, reporting to the Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, you will be responsible for defining strategic HR priorities, translating them into actionable programs, and driving their execution across the employee lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in leading HR maturity transformations within fast-growing, talent-focused tech organisations.

What your job looks like

  • Design and Execute the People Operations Roadmap: Lead the delivery of a strategic HR roadmap to support the company’s scale-up into an international, talent-driven organisation. Identify and prioritise key areas for maturity and transformation across the People function, focusing on scalability, automation, and impact. Leverage tools such as HiBob to support process efficiency and data-driven decisions.

  • Program & Project Management of Core HR Initiatives: Translate strategic HR priorities into clearly defined, time-bound projects across the employee lifecycle—spanning performance, compensation, onboarding, and development. Drive the planning, stakeholder alignment, implementation, and evaluation of each program, using structured project management approaches.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Change Enablement: Partner with the HR Operations Manager and Business Operations team to ensure smooth delivery and alignment on systems, processes, and data. Provide direction and hands-on support where needed. Work closely with department leads to embed new practices and ensure adoption, compliance, and long-term sustainability.

  • Performance Management Framework Redesign: Lead a project to evolve the company’s performance management approach, aligning it with business goals and personal development. Oversee the end-to-end cycle from framework refinement to tool deployment, communications,
    and feedback gathering.

  • Compensation & Benefits Optimisation: Run a focused project to assess, optimise, and implement compensation and benefits strategies that are competitive, fair, and future-fit. Coordinate internal benchmarking and stakeholder input, and deliver clear communication and
    rollout plans.

  • Talent Development & Career Growth Programs: Design and pilot scalable learning, training, and career development pathways. Ensure initiatives foster engagement, build internal capability, and support long-term employee growth and retention.

  • Onboarding & Employee Experience Enhancements: Lead improvements to the onboarding experience, with a focus on efficiency, cultural integration, and retention impact. Build toolkits, define processes, and create feedback loops to ensure a seamless and engaging start for every
    new joiner.
