We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Corporate Developer to join our Corporate Affairs team. This is an amazing opportunity if you have the experience to drive international expansion by building high-value strategic alliances in foreign markets and developing an acquisition growth strategy.  

What your job looks like  

  • Market development and thought leadership – Identify and validate markets that carry expansion potential, supported by the innovation team. Raise the awareness about digital identity of private and public stakeholders in foreign countries through speaking and networking opportunities. Represent itsme® at international and local conferences and events. 

  • Strategic alliance development – Identify and assess opportunities to form alliance partnerships with high-trust partners such as financial institutions, telecom and postal operators in foreign markets. Cultivate strong and long-term relationships with their key decision makers and other key stakeholders in those countries, such as government authorities, regulators and industry federations. Collaborate with the commercial and product teams to maximize market entry success. 

  • Strategic alliance formation – Structure and negotiate strategic partnership terms, be it commercial or equity (e.g. joint venture) in close collaboration with itsme’s® commercial, product and operational teams. Ensure partnership terms that ensure scalability and sustainable value while respecting local market conditions and regulations. 

  • Business planning – Structure and plan partnership investments and budgets in collaboration with the finance and operational teams.  

  • Growth strategy – Together with the M&A manager and product team, develop strategies to support international and product expansion via strategic alliances and acquisitions. Supporting change across the organisation in realising these objectives. 

Job requirements

  • Master’s degree in business, finance, or a related field.  

  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in corporate development, building international strategic partnerships, organically and inorganically.  

  • Strategic thinker with an affinity for more complex and regulated technology environments. Experience in fintech or regtech is a plus. 

  • Skilled in influencing opinion and building sustainable relationships with high-stake private and public stakeholders. Experience in dealing with private partners in high-trust sectors (such as banking and telecom) comes in handy. 

  • Excellent communication and deal-making skills, being known as a person of integrity. 

  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed to manage relationships and support company expansion. 

  • Thriving in a dynamic and fast-growing environment, where you go the extra mile to get things done. 

  • Team player who likes to interact with stakeholders at all levels within and outside of the organization. 

  • Fluent in English and native in Dutch or French. Proficiency in other European languages is a bonus.
