Now, only nine years after being founded, close to 8 million citizens use the itsme® app to identify themselves and sign documents online. Starting in Belgium, we successfully launched the itsme app in 32 European countries, with the ambition of becoming an internationally leading player.

We are looking for a Compliance Specialist  whose mission will be to validate itsme® compliance to the different frameworks that we have to abide to, such as eIDAS – the regulation on Electronic Identity and Signatures – but also GDPR, NIS2, CRA, AI and the frameworks our customers are looking at such as PSD3, PSR and DORA. 

The primary objective of the role is to provide assurance that itsme's products, services and operations remain demonstrably compliant with applicable regulatory and contractual requirements. You help the organisation translate requirements into controls, validate their effectiveness and ensure that compliance can be evidenced towards regulators, auditors, customers and partners.

What your job looks like

· Take a pivotal role in the Compliance, Risk and Audit department, working alongside experts in the field of Information Security, Privacy and Compliance;

·  Analyse the impact of new legislation and standards on products, processes and operational controls;

·  Ensure traceability between (new) requirements, controls and supporting evidence;

·  Assist product and operational teams with implementations of new features to bring them in line with the applicable Belgian and European frameworks;

·  Produce assurance reports for management and governance bodies;

·  Prepare, lead and assist in regular audits, both internal and external, to provide transparency about our continued compliance, and produce the evidences that underpin our commitments to the market;

Job requirements

Background and experience

·   A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

·   Proven work experience of 5 years or more in on e or more of the following domains: Electronic Identity, Electronic Signatures, Fintech or RegTech organisations, Personal Data Processing, Compliance Assessments, Policy and Process implementations, or similar areas of expertise.

·   Experience in environments where compliance, resilience, personal data protection, information security are of utmost importance.

·   Experience with GRC, compliance automation and/or evidence management platforms

·   Holder of an auditor certification in eIDAS, ISO27701, 27001 or other equivalent frameworks will be a plus.

·   Prior experience in the application of ETSI ESI Standards in the field of Identity Proofing and/or Electronic Signatures are a plus

·   A strong and convincing communicator, you know how to deal with a multitude of stakeholders on different hierarchical levels both in- and outside itsme®.

·    Writing skills include the development of clear, concise and pragmatic guidelines in policies, procedures and instructions for colleagues & suppliers

·   Languages: You are fluent in English. Dutch and/or French are a plus.
